'Risk of Acid Rain' to entertain UAE & Turkey airlines passengers

Iranian film 'Risk of Acid Rain' is to be shown for UAE and Turkey airlines passengers.

Iranian director Behtash Sanaeeha's 'Risk of Acid Rain' is set to go on show for passengers travelling with airlines based in the UAE and Turkey.

The internationally noted Iranian film will be part of in-flight entertainment for Dubai-based airline Emirates as well as Turkey's national carrier Turkish Airlines.

The film has already been subtitled for display during the flights of these two airlines, a media report said.

“Manouchehr, a 60 year old retiree from the Iranian Tobacco Company, still insists on going to work while he grapples with the loneliness of retirement. When his mother passes away, Manouchehr who is unmarried with no other family embarks on a journey to try to find his one and only old friend, Khosrow, in Tehran,” text for a festival catalogue about the film read.

‘Risk of Acid Rain’ is a minimal poetic story that addresses the ongoing human perplexities of love and death.

The film has already grabbed several national and international tiltes in cinematic events, including

Winner of the Best Screenplay at 2015 Fajr Film Festival - Iran,

Winner of the Best Talented First Film Director at the 2015 Celebration of Film Critics- Iran,

Winner of the Special Jury award for 2016 International Film Festival of Colombo- Sri Lanka, and

Winner of Audience award for 2016 Prague Film Festival - Czech Republic.

The film was also an official selection for several events such as 2015 Stockholm Film Festival in Sweden, 2015 Mumbai Film Festival in India and 2016 Goteborg Film Festival in Sweden.
